A mission that matters
To achieve its climate goals, the Netherlands is committed to achieving carbon-free electricity. Nuclear Energy Organisation Netherlands (NEO NL) contributes to this by building and operating two new nuclear power plants, on behalf of the government. It is one of the most ambitious energy projects the Netherlands has ever seen. At NEO NL, your work will directly contribute to this national ambition and make an impact that lasts for decades. To make this assignment a success, we need extraordinary people. People like you.
For the start-up phase of NEO NL, we are looking for:
Integrated Management System (IMS) Lead (40 hours per week)
Your assignment
As IMS Lead you are responsible for further developing, implementing, and maintaining the Integrated Management System for a major nuclear new build program in the Netherlands. The scope is design, implementation and embedding: you make sure the management system is understood, applied, and demonstrably effective across the organisation.
- Process landscape. You build the core of the IMS: the process landscape covering all company processes, developed down to level 4 (swimlane).
- Standards and compliance. You develop and implement the IMS in line with nuclear regulatory requirements and international standards such as IAEA GS-R and ISO 9001.
- Structure and integration. You sharpen the IMS scope, structure, processes, and documentation hierarchy, and you integrate safety, quality, project management, risk, configuration, and document control.
- Rollout and embedding. You lead the rollout across the program organisation and key partners, define roles and responsibilities, and set up training and change management so the IMS lands where the work is done.
- Effectiveness. You establish KPIs, audits, and management reviews to monitor how the IMS performs and to drive continuous improvement.
- Team. You lead a small team of process modelers.
Your background and experience
- You have senior experience implementing Integrated Management Systems in complex, highly regulated environments.
- You have demonstrable experience in nuclear new build, nuclear operations, or an equivalent safety-critical industry such as aerospace, defence, or offshore energy.
- You have a track record in process management and a thorough understanding of BPMN and/or other process modelling standards.
- You understand nuclear safety culture, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
- You have embedded management systems in large, multi-party organisations.
- You have worked with Owner organisations, EPC contractors, and regulators.
- You are strong in stakeholder management and communication at senior and regulatory level.
We also value if you have:
- Experience with European nuclear programs.
- Familiarity with Dutch regulatory frameworks.
- A background in engineering, quality, project management, or systems management.
- Certifications in quality, safety, or management systems, such as ISO Lead Auditor or IRCA.
Competencies
- Systems thinking. You see how processes, functions and partners connect, and you design for the whole instead of the part.
- Safety leadership. You act with high integrity and put nuclear safety first in every decision you take.
- Implementation focus. You are structured and pragmatic, and you measure yourself by what is actually embedded.
- Moving through complexity. You find your way in a complex, matrixed organisation and get things done across boundaries.
- Authority with collaboration. You hold the line on the standard and bring people along while doing it.
What we offer
- A strong and committed team – Become part of a diverse and ambitious team of 150 professionals who share a common goal and mission.
- A culture of trust and ownership – We believe in responsibility, collaboration, open communication, and a safe working environment.
- Dynamic environment – Experience the energy of building a new organisation step by step, and two nuclear power plants that will help the Netherlands for many decades from now.
