For NEO NL, we are looking for a: Legal Counsel Nuclear Energy Act / Nuclear Law (40 hours per week).

Your Assignment

As a Legal Counsel for the Nuclear Energy Act / nuclear legislation and regulations, you will advise on complex issues regarding nuclear activities, licensing procedures, supervision, and compliance. You are a strong legal sparring partner for management and competent authorities, where legal quality and practical feasibility always come first.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Providing clear advice on the Nuclear Energy Act and associated regulations, combined with targeted legal support during licensing procedures and contact with authorities.
  • Reviewing and drafting legal documents, contracts, and internal guidelines.
  • Monitoring developments in legislation and regulations (at both national and international levels) and advising on these regarding risk management and decision-making.
  • Supporting multidisciplinary projects and acting as the primary legal point of contact for (external) stakeholders.

Your Background and Experience

  • A completed university Master's degree in Dutch Law and a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the Nuclear Energy Act and experience with licensing and compliance within a regulated sector.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language.

Additionally, we appreciate it if you have:

  • A Master's degree in Administrative Law, Environmental Law, or a similar field.
  • Experience within a multidisciplinary and/or highly regulated environment (such as energy, infrastructure, or government).

  • Proactive and solution-oriented: You work independently and thrive in a dynamic environment with strict deadlines and shifting priorities.
