Senior Project Scheduler

A mission that matters

To achieve our climate goals, the Netherlands has committed to realizing low-carbon electricity. The Nuclear Energy Organization Netherlands (NEO NL) contributes to this by building and operating two new nuclear power plants commissioned by the government. You will likely only get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work on a task of such immense scale and societal importance. At NEO NL, you will contribute to one of the largest energy projects our country has ever seen. With your work, you will make an impact that will be felt for decades. To make this mission a success, we need exceptional people. People like you.

For NEO NL, we are looking for a: Senior Project Scheduler (40 hours per week).

Your Assignment

As a Senior Project Scheduler, you develop, maintain, and control the schedule for a defined area or scope of work within the NEO program (e.g., Construction logistics, enabling works). You ensure that each delivery team works to a current, logically sound schedule that accurately reflects progress, ensuring program control rests on reliable data. Embedded in one or more delivery teams, you report functionally to the Planning Lead and work alongside other schedulers and the cost, risk, and change functions of Project Controls.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Building and maintaining the schedule for your scope: defining the WBS, coding, and activity logic to provide a sound foundation for long-term control.
  • Gathering progress inputs across disciplines and running critical path, trend, and variance analysis to track performance and surface delays and risks early.
  • Building workload, resource, and alternative-execution scenarios so project managers and the PMO can see the consequences of different options.
  • Producing clear, timely progress and performance reports and KPI views for the delivery team, PMO, and management.
  • Integrating the schedules of multiple disciplines and contractors into one coherent plan, working with delivery teams to keep plans coordinated and achievable.
  • Working with the Planning Lead to improve planning methods, data governance, and traceability, while playing an active role in the transition to Primavera P6.

Your Background and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a business or technical field.
  • 10 to 15 years of scheduling experience across at least two projects, including multidisciplinary work on large or mega-projects in construction, energy, or infrastructure.
  • Advanced Primavera P6 user with a strong command of schedule logic and data management.
  • A strong grasp of resource planning, critical path analysis, QSRA, and earned value management.
  • Experience assessing supply-chain schedules and performing schedule impact analysis of change.

Additionally, we appreciate it if you have

  • Relevant planning or project management training.

Competencies

  • Strong Analytical Judgment: You apply analytical judgment within your scope, diagnosing causes of slippage and assessing schedule impact where there is no single right answer.
  • Clear communication: You effortlessly translate complex schedule analysis into clear updates for project managers and program management.
  • Independent and Accountable: You work independently to the standards set by the Planning Lead and are capable of challenging and holding senior stakeholders accountable for scheduling-related activities.
  • Collaborative: You are adept at integrating multiple discipline inputs and are comfortable operating in a dual-reporting, embedded structure.

What We Offer

  • A strong and committed team – Become part of a diverse and ambitious team of professionals who share a common goal and a shared mission.
  • A culture of trust and ownership – We believe in responsibility, collaboration, open communication, and a safe working atmosphere.
  • A dynamic environment – Experience the energy generated by building the organization step-by-step, along with the two nuclear power plants that will propel the Netherlands forward for many decades to come.

About the Organization

NEO NL is an independent organization of which the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy is the sole shareholder. Our mission is clear: delivering sustainable nuclear energy solutions that contribute to the Dutch ambition of climate neutrality. With unparalleled quality and safety standards, and driven by expertise and responsibility, we are building a resilient energy system and advancing nuclear knowledge for future generations.

At NEO NL, you don't just have a job. You get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ensure that the Netherlands becomes less dependent on the import of fossil fuels and has access to clean and reliable energy. You will become part of an ambitious, supportive, and international team working at the intersection of policy, technology, and society.

This is your chance to write history. Join us and be part of something that lasts.
